The Promote the Peace Project in partnership with business & community organizations are producing the Promote the Peace Music CD/DVD, Radio Station, Live Events, and Promote the Peace Radio Show. The goal of this project is to help reduce the violent messages today’s music is promoting to our youth by providing a positive alternative that will highlight positive youth voices.
There has long been a need for an alternative to the music that is aimed at our young people today. Popular teen idols glamorize murder, drug, and explicit sexual behavior. Now homicide and violence is consuming our communities and families all over America and the music is an instigator to what’s going on in the streets. In addition to violence, dropout rates, illiteracy, and incarceration are on the rise. The Promote the Peace Project is that much needed Alternative.
COMING SOON: The Promote the Peace Music Competition. We are seeking submissions of Positive Music and Poems. There will be big cash prizes, scholarships, and other prizes. If you or someone you know has GREAT Positive material, have them send their mp3, photo, and bio to submit@promotethepeace.comThe following is a list of popular Rap Artists that have been murdered. The music industry has free reign in promoting music that encourages violence, drugs, and degradation of women. There is an extremes need for an alternative for our youth, specifically, the young people that seek to get involved in the music business. Our deepest condolences go out to the families of those young artists that have been lost to violence, and to the families of these who were incarcerated for their violent acts.
